John Hutchins Pinder, VI ("Hutch")
Hutch joined the Whittemore Law Group, P.A. in 2009. Hutch practices in the areas of product liability, wrongful death, personal injury and criminal defense. While at the firm, Hutch has tried multiple cases in order to protect the rights of victims injured by the careless, negligent or wrongful acts of other parties.
Hutch has tried to conclusion over 40 jury trials, including tobacco litigation cases stemming from the former Engle class action, wrongful death cases, personal injury cases due to the negligent conduct of others, tractor trailer crashes, murder, aggravated assault, sexual battery, burglary, drug trafficking, child abuse, grand theft and driving under the influence.
Hutch earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and later earned his J.D. and M.B.A. concurrently at Stetson University College of Law. After graduating from Stetson, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida. While at the State Attorney’s Office, Hutch was recognized by a local DUI advocacy group as a top Prosecutor based on advocacy skills and the successful prosecution of driving under the influence cases. While at the State Attorney’s Office, Hutch was assigned to the DUI Manslaughter Squad which responds onsite to traffic homicide investigations and works closely with law enforcement in their subsequent prosecution.
Hutch is involved in the Tampa Bay legal community, participating as an active member in Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers, the St. Petersburg Bar Association and the Barney Masterson Inns of Court. Hutch is also a member of the Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice.
Hutch is also a member of Coastal Conversation Association. Born and raised in Florida, Hutch enjoys fishing and in his spare time supports CCA’s conservation efforts of Florida’s natural marine resources. Hutch is also a fan of the Florida State Seminoles.
